Entender el entorno y las condicionantes del proyecto no mediante aproximaciones intuitivas, sino a través de datos medibles y simulaciones en tiempo real, es lo que convierte al análisis paramétrico en una herramienta fundamental para el diseño arquitectónico. Esta lámina reúne los distintos estudios desarrollados algorítmicamente para evaluar, desde las primeras etapas, cómo la forma arquitectónica interactúa con su contexto y programa.
El enfoque paramétrico permite procesar de manera simultánea e interconectada múltiples variables críticas: desde la captura de vistas óptimas y el comportamiento bioclimático (radiación, soleamiento y orientación), hasta el control de la esbeltez volumétrica, las relaciones funcionales del programa y la distribución eficiente de unidades y tipologías. La verdadera potencia de esta metodología no reside únicamente en diagnosticar el lugar, sino en su capacidad de retroalimentar el proceso de diseño: cada parámetro analizado se convierte en un driver que moldea la volumetría de forma objetiva, permitiendo iterar decenas de opciones para encontrar la solución más equilibrada, eficiente y rigurosa antes de formalizar la arquitectura final.

Programme Analysis

Matrix Buildings is a custom parametric tool developed in Grasshopper with Python that automatically generates and ranks a full solution matrix for residential, hotel, or multi-unit projects. Given a fixed target program (e.g., 500 units), it processes key inputs—such as unit counts, module dimensions, core spacing, corridor widths, BOH areas, building separations, and height limits—to compute every possible massing combination across single or multiple towers. The tool automatically places circulation cores, BOH zones, and living units while ensuring strict compliance with the exact unit count. By evaluating floor plan efficiency and scoring each configuration on a scale from 1 to 10, it allows teams to instantly identify the option that maximizes net-to-gross area efficiency.

This automated parametric workflow translates raw Excel spatial programs directly into interactive, relationally-linked 3D building massings. Developed to streamline early-stage masterplanning and complex architectural programming, the script processes key project inputs—such as target floor areas, maximum floor counts, structural bay depths (crujías), and department adjacencies—to automatically generate and stack color-coded volumetric models floor by floor.Beyond generating 3D volumes, the workflow dynamically maps spatial connections through circular chord diagrams and matrix spreadsheets, projecting real-time proximity vectors directly between building blocks in the viewport. By linking structured data to 3D geometry, this tool eliminates manual block layout iterations, accelerates feasibility studies, and guarantees 100% programmatic accuracy and functional efficiency from day one.
